Two-in-One House

Designed by Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter

Located in Akershus, Norway the Two-in-One House is a minimalist designed home by Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter. The home is truly inspiring with its ancient backdrop, Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter have created a spectacular design that works with the surrounding environment wonderfully. The home rests upon the steep landscape of Ekeberglia in Oslo. The residence is built on a concrete base that provides support for the wooden clad body and the light glass structure that sits on top of the home. Two families share this amazing home and this provided a challenge for the designers as they had to design something that worked as one while supporting two. They did this by creating a ground floor that integrates the main public functions of the home. Each family then enjoy their own intimate and seclusive areas on the first floor. Each floor has been designed to also provide great vistas thanks for the amazing views based on the design and function that each floor plays. With the ground floor encouraging this more than the first.
