Designed by Andrea Ponti
Designed by Italian, Hong Kong-based, designer Andrea Ponti, this minimalist creation is called Kanban. The side table attempts to reach a new level within form and aesthetics. Inspired by Hong Kong and his surroundings, this side table provides a clear representation to Hong Kong’s cosmopolitan metropolis. Built with a steel structure around a concrete base mirroring the industrial importance of Hong Kong history. The large neon signs that protrude out across the streets, off a single slender steel bar while lighting up the streets of Kowloon inspired the table’s shape. The key to the design and aesthetics of this minimalist table is the contrasting effect the neutral concrete base and the charcoal steel: they create a chiaroscuro – an effect of contrasting light and shade.
