Grandmother's House

Grandmother's House

Designed by Evolution Design

Located in Beijing, China this minimalist home was once an obsolete village ranch. Taking the original frame of this quietly set home Evolution Design managed to capture the essence and soul of what was once and develop a minimal architectural piece that connects texture and space. The name of this project, Grandmother's House. Taking careful guidance from the surrounding environment the designers were able to translate a unique relationship between structure and nature. The contrasting warm reds that surround the home's exterior work in unison with the grey, darker tones that line the interior. The use of light, manicured woods alongside naturally bare timber really resonates well within the home working naturally with the carefully selected pieces of furniture that finish off the home's finer features.
